Čeněk Folk (*1988, Tábor) graduated from the Independent Film College in Písek with a degree in Cinematography. Later, he received a degree in film history and theory at Masaryk University in Brno and finally finished his photography studies at the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague, where he attended the Studio of Documentary Photography led by Prof. Viktor Kolář, later by Karel Cudlín.
Now he works for the Photography Department of the National Gallery in Prague and also works as an educator at the Photography Department in the High School of Applied Arts in Český Krumlov.
In his personal work, he is concerned with Subjective Documentary, Portrait, and Street Photography. He works mostly with classical analog photography because of its truthfulness and inherent resistance to manipulation.
